Interface should reload performance counters after failover and keep track of them.

The interface should be designed to reload counters both at startup and when becoming the active interface after a failover. The interface should realize the counter is not available and periodically attempt to reload (ideally with a message to th...

When using debug mode level tracing in opc ua, can we get a dump of the client settings and data source settings in the log file that are being used so we know the context of that session?

it will tell us exactly the full context the adapter is operating in when it starts up and connects to the data source.

Convert incoming string data to float and provide division all in the same tag instead of a PE

OPC server is outputting data with the currency data type (VT_CY) and it needs to be stored in the float type.  As per the OPCtoCSV document, the OPCtoCSV tool/OPC interface invokes VariantChangeType in order to convert this currency value to...

OPC DA, A&E historical recovery

We have seen that the primary OPC interface will be connected but we don't see data coming across since the OPC server itself seems to have a problem. Since the connection is still active we won't failover to the secondary. We have to leave Notifi...

Specific debug log levels to troubleshoot specific issues

Similar to PI Interfaces (/DB for opcint), adapters should allow setting some additional debugging to troubleshoot specific issues, instead of only allowing a general LogLevel (Information, Trace, Warning, etc.) This would allow for more granular ...

Simplify the security configuration for OPC UA

The newer OPC UA protocols have stricter security standards, which is good, but that makes configuring connections more difficult, especially with regard to the need to put in tunneling and open ports. It should be easier to establish a secure con...

Parameter for restarting the interface if no connection to the OPC server can be established after a defined period of time

We use the Phoenix Contact Firewall with the OPC Inspector. When the OPC server restarts or breaks the connection for a few seconds, the firewall blocks all ports except port 135. After initial connection through this port, new firewall rules are ...
