Egress data to another Edge Data Store

I would like to be able to configure an Edge Data Store to egress data to another Edge Data Store. Due to network limitations, I cannot egress data directly to OCS or PI Web API. Egressing to another Edge Data Store would allow me to configure an architecture where one EDS acts as a relay to the other before reaching a final egress endpoint like the PI Web API or OCS.

    With the current supported version of EDS, egress from EDS can become ingress to EDS if both EDS instances are on same device. We are considering this feedback as a potential feature sometime in future release of Edge Data Store. Meanwhile, please provide any additional information regarding this feedback.

    Often times there are numerous firewalls between the data source and the target PI System, and we can't open ports through multiple firewalls in a row, so we need some sort of data relaying agent that can forward data from one network to the next, sometimes multiple times before reaching the target PI System. If EDS could egress to another EDS on another network, then EDS could act as the data relaying agent.

    Data transfer from EDS to EDS is needed to build tiered architectures where a firewall may sit in between 2 EDS instances.

    This is especially important if the final egress destination is ADH. It is unlikely that an Adapter / EDS will have access to both the data source and be exposed to the internet (to access ADH)

    There is also the use case where customer does not have a PI System but wants to use ADH. The data source (adapter or eds) on the process networks needs to relay the data to an eds in a network that can access ADH.
