Enable AVEVA Adapter for OPC UA to detect unchanged source values beyond a configured interval and continue sending the last known value with refreshed timestamps until a new source event is received

This enhancement is required so the AVEVA Adapter for OPC UA can functionally match ABB 800xA / Vtrin RTDB historical behavior while preserving existing PI System and Asset Framework functionality.

The customer would like this capability implemented directly within the Adapter architecture.

Requirements:

  • Collect and send Real time and historical values.

  • If Source is not sending new value (outside of the deadband) for more than 10 mins, PI should write/store the previous data with new timestamp every 10 mins until source sends another new update.

  • If a tag has a static value for more than 10 mins PI should write the same value with updated timestamp. That 10 mins interval should match the timestamp from ABB.

  • In other words, the solution should match the Vtrin RTDB (ABB 800xA & ABB History)

  • Preserve existing PI System and Asset Framework functionality.

  • Match existing OPC UA Adapter throughput/performance characteristics as closely as possible

  • The solution shall not introduce any security vulnerabilities.

  • The new Solution should match existing OPC UA Adapter Hardware requirements and Hardware purchases and Adapter features.

  • Attach files
