Allow the connector to use a proxy for web requests

Provide a way to configure the connector to use a proxy and authenticate with the proxy if required.

    Thank you for your input. While we are not planning on implementing this functionality in the PI Connector for UFL, we are testing PI Adapters against common proxy types to ensure that the Adapter will support them. We are starting to develop PI Adapter for Structured Data Files which may meet your needs.

    With its ability to act as a REST client the UFL connector is natural choice to bring data from cloud based solutions (for example IBM Bluemix) into PI as it is very simple to configure, use, and support. However, It's quite common for businesses to require their servers to communicate with the internet via a proxy, preventing this method of data ingress into PI.

    This is a very important feature which is missing from UFL connector. Just because of this limitation we had to create a separate VM in inner DMZ, to circumvent our security regime. This must be included in upcoming release.

    The lack of this feature is also impacting our solution. We are considering creating a separate VM or custom application to read from the REST API

    We also have use cases, where we need this urgent. It is a common case in industrial environment, that the Connector is behind a proxy.
