Merge Two Tags or Copy Tag Data to a New Point

Sometimes, when dealing with APS, a new TAG is generated for an existing point. Data stops going to the old point. It would be nice if there was an easy way, within the gui (not manually dumping and importing) that we could take the values from one tag, and place it into the new tag. There are other times when we may want to copy all historical values from a tag, and place it into a new tag.

Declined - At the time we will not be implementing this idea since it does not align with our current data collection strategy.

Being able to copy data from one tag to another tag directly in SMT would be a useful feature.

In response to Philippe Côté, "Being able to copy data from one tag to ..." Agree - would also be nice to set a date range to copy.

We are doing a project that will utilize the connector for OPC-UA.  Our current tag naming convention is inconsistent from plant to plant.  Using the connector to build new tags and AF structure is super appealing, but we don't want to loose 13 years of history just to make tag names and AF templates easier and more consistent.  Having a the ability to copy data from one tag to the next would be hugely helpful feature to have in Tag Builder doing thousands of tags one by one in SMT would not be an option for my project.
