PI Connector for OPC UA Ignore First Value

Some OPC UA servers send an initial subscription value of BAD or Bad_WaitingForInitialData when a subscription is first made. This data does not reflect integrity or the health of the data stream, and as such is not desirable to archive this value in some situations. This request is for the connector to have a configurable flag to no longer store the initial value sent by the UA Server data source.

    This request has been addressed in PI Connector for OPC UA version 2.0.1.33.

    I would strongly support this. This is the situation we are experiencing with a Siemens T3000 OPC UA server which sends Bad_WaitingForInitialData on initial subscription. In some circumstances it results in PI Tags retaining a bad status on initial subscription until the next time that the tag changes in the OPC server which for some tags could be several weeks or months. this occurs each time we restart the PI OPC UA connector. Being able to choose to ignore this initial Bad_WaitingFor initial data would resolve the problem.

    We have the same issue when connecting to a Siemens T3000 OPC UA server. I also support the possibility to ignore the initial "Bad" value when the UA connector first starts and connects to the OPC UA server, especially since some tags may update very slowly (hours, days, or even weeks).

    I use Siemens AK-1703 PLC and the bad value is shown notwithstanding the OPC UA connector is not been restarted.

    From 'PI Connector for OPC UA Release Notes Application Version 1.3.1.142': "96103 - This version includes the addition of a datasource configuration parameter that allows the user the option of ignoring a Bad_WaitingForInitialData status."
