Currently the Interface is supporting read only. Sending data is also required

    We do not plan to incorporate bi-directional data flow within PI Connector for OPC UA. The PI System plays a vital role in our customers’ process and business workflows, and uni-directional data flow from the data source to the PI System helps maintain the integrity and security of our customers’ operations.

      I don't think the argument presented by AVEVA holds much water. Being able to write back values to the SCADA system is important for applications which auto tune PID controllers. In the past the concenr about data integrity was managed by releasing two different binaries for the OPC DA interface: one read-only and another with read and write capabilities for those customers who need is. Why can't similar be done for OPC UA?

      Some EA customers are requesting this functionality which would be very important for them.

      Due to network restrictions we will be forced to migrate from OPC DA to OPC UA and write functionality is something we need and currently use with OPC DA so it is a very important matter for us

      I would also really like this feature. It's helpful for getting display only data onto our SCADA systems.
