Moving Average / Moving weighted average FUNCTION in AF Analysis

our customer wants to have a moving average / moving weighted average function available in AF analysis. So far they are using the prevevent and prevval functions. However with more samples the formula gets too long.

PI Server 2018 has been released. The array functionalities in analytics allow you to accomplish this feature request.

    Or if it's event-weighted, there's TagMean.

My customer is looking for this too. A moving average using a time rage works perfect with Tagmean but when you want to use the 40 last events there is no direct function. Using prevevent and prevval will create a pretty long expression.

As mentioned in the other comments, it is possible to have a moving average and moving mean with the functions TagAvg and TagMean, however now it is not possible to do so based on a number of events given by customer, for this there is an enhancement request: Event-Weighted Summary Functions (https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/555148-pi-server/suggestions/17442598-event-weighted-summary-functions).

In response to Carlos Villanua, "My customer is looking for this too. A..." AF 2018 will have some features to do exactly that. So wait around for that release!
