Make UOM conversion a more streamlined process

In AF, right clicking an attribute reveals an options called "change display UOM", but it's not doing what is expected. To change the displayed UOMs (if, for instance, we want to see "km/h" instead of "m/h" in PI Vision), we need to do the following : 1. In AF, change the "source unit" UOMs to the "source" uoms 2. In AF, change the "Default UOM" to what we want to see displayed. This process could be made a lot simpler if we could simply use the "change display UOM" feature instead, by right clicking the attributes.

    As noted previously, the Display UOM setting is a client side setting specific to PI System Explorer. We currently have no plans to persist this change to the underlying data source (source UOM) and the attribute default UOM.

    Change display UOM option in PI System Explorer is useless unless you just want to see what the value would be if converted. It does not push the change to PI Vision or any Element Relative Processbooks. If it is not to be fixed it should say Evaluate different UOM.

    In PI System Explorer, which itself is an AF SDK client, it is in fact true that you're changing the Display UOM of the relevant attribute within the PI System Explorer graphical user interface. One must take note that this is a client side setting. User often forgets that PI System Explorer is just an AF SDK client and nothing more. It is not possible to change the Display UOM in PI System Explorer and then persist that same Display UOM automatically in another AF SDK client unless one changes what is stored in the database. When you change the Display UOM in PI System Explorer, that change is only valid within the context of that particular AF SDK client. If your desired end goal is to change the shown UOM in PI Vision, which itself is an AF SDK client, please vote for the relevant idea under the PI Vision feedback section.
