Allow individual MSIs to be extracted from the PI Server 2018 install kit

(from case 939560) I kindly request you add an enhancement request to allow individual MSIs to be extracted from the install kit. On numerous occasions, I’ve had upgrade/install failures that could be easily overcome by re-running the affected MSI individually, as opposed to from the wrapper.

Sometimes running an individual MSI with full UI is more forgiving than running that same MSI silently.  But it is not clear what numerous problems you are running into.

I have reviewed your case# 939560. Based on the information in the case, having individual MSI's would not have helped you. Can you elaborate on your request and your specific use cases?

See Knowledge Article "Setup error 1404 uninstalling 64-bit PISDK - permission denied for PISystem\PINS". Happened during upgrade to PI Server 2018. It appears this could be resolved be running the individual msi with GUI because you can ignore the error.

I agree that the PI-SDK installation kit sometimes has errors that can be ignored by running the PI-SDK MSI individually.  Fortunately, the PI-SDK setup bundle is available individually for download and the MSI can be run directly from that bundle.
