Be able to configure PI AF security in a single PI System Explorer window

Currently, there are 2 windows to configure PI AF security, and it is a pain to switch between them:

  • File → Database → Edit Security, which is used to assign permissions to identities

  • File → Server Properties → Identities tab and Mappings tab, which are used to create, edit, and delete identities and mappings Please combine these into a single window. For example, the former window could become an extra tab in the latter window.

In the current implementation, one is for configuring securities for the selected Database whereas the other is for configuring security at the PI System level (server). They each accomplish slightly different tasks and we have no plans to change at this time.

I made a mistake. • File → Database → Edit Security, which is used to assign permissions to identities for the AF server (let that sink in: you click on "Database" and you configure the server) • File → Database → right-click on a database → Security, which is used to assign permissions to identities for the AF database Ideally, these would be combined into the same window as well and it would be made clearer when server security versus database security is being configured
