Can you be a bit more specific on which document and where in the document you're referring to?

Unfortunately we don't have enough information to proceed with this idea. As this is strictly not a feature enhancement request but rather a request to correct some documentation, I'm going to Decline this idea. If additional information is made available, I'm happy to redirect this to our tech support department to resolve.

Hi Stephen, Apologies for the delay in responding. Somehow I missed your previous email. I am referring to the ‘PI Server 2018 SP3 Installation and Upgrade Guide’: https://customers.osisoft.com/s/global-search/%40uri#q=pi%20server%202018%20sp3%20installation%20and%20upgrade%20guide&sort=relevancy I have also attached this Guide here. On Page: 90, the Heading describe ‘Verify PI Data Archive is updating Data for default Tags’ and provide a walkthrough of checking the default tag (cdt158) data using ‘pisnap’ utility. But the Default Tags are actually not created in 2018 SP3 installation. I ran through the same problem after installing PI Data Archive 2018 SP3. Although the Log file doesn’t indicate any issues but when I checked the default tags through PI SMT, I cannot locate any of them. Under impression that installation missed some permission or installed Data Archive with not all default features, I un-installed and re-install it. Even after re-installation, I still doesn’t see the default Points, I raised a Case and was informed that Default Points are not created as a part of 2018 SP3 installation.

Hi Sumra, Thanks for getting back with the details. I'll have the documentation team update the doc.

I think it would be better to put the default points and the random & ramp-soak interfaces back into the install kits: it is massively useful for diagnostics, experimentation and training to have these almost guaranteed tags available. I am told they have been removed since most customers remove them anyway but that is the opposite of our experience: In 18 years of working with PI I don't think I have ever encountered a system that did not have these tags.
