Ability to set global PI Tag limits (data validation) via PSMT

Currently, in order to set limits (data validation) values for a PI tag, it must be set in a tour run for a specific tag. I think the best solution going forward would be to allow users to set and modify global limits (data validation values) within PI System Management Tools since there is already the capability of doing so on the database level. From there, PIML could use the global settings when initially creating a tour run with an optional button to download the current global values at any time for a specific tag, or for all tags. Then, any value set in a tour run could override the global value for a specific tour run. This would reduce redundancy in setting up the data validation values for tags when multiple tour runs contain the same tags with the same data validation requirements.

I have conveyed your request to the PIML product manager. After further discussion, we feel that an AF attribute configured as a trait is the better path forward, once PIML is updated to fully support AF. In addition, we do not want to mix up PI System management tasks with PIML global configuration tasks. As such, we're declining this request at this time.
