Tuning parameters or PI setting that could be enabled to prevent duplicate data

Tuning parameters or PI setting that could be enabled to prevent duplicate data(tag, timestamp, value the same) from being inserted into PI.  Would be a global setting that could be applied at the archive level to prevent all interface types from inserting duplicate data.

I understand your concern as PI is generally interested in collecting ALL data. But I have 1 gigabyte archives that are filling up every 3 days. These kind of tags use triple the space they would take if I could stop the duplicate data.

What method are you using to collect this data? Some of our data collection technologies allow for this type of setting to be specified on the collector or tag. For instance, the UFL Interface has a setting for archive mode.
