Provide option for backfilling history and details within notification email

The Notifications rules email format should include backfilling history and details of its respective event frame in the content options. The backfilling content can include: - Completed Time - Start Time - End Time - Last Evaluation - Events Processed See the screenshot attached to see an example of the dialog that appears when hovering over the event frame or analysis. This would provide information to the users to know if these were recalculated.

What's the use case for sending the notification itself? Is the notification being sent to alert the user that a backfill/recalculation has occurred?

Are we alerting that the event frame itself was backfilled at some point and to include the listed info if the EF was backfilled? Or what Steve said, that a backfill has occurred? Why is it important to know if this is backfilled? How would that affect user response on if it was generated real time?

I reached out to the customer and she was able to provide me with the following information: - This notification is sent to alert my client when the last backfill/recalculate happened. - In the event frame I’d want the listed info if the EF was backfilled: 1. Completed Time 2. Start Time 3. End Time 4. Last Evaluation 5. Events Processed 6. User who executed Backfill/Recalculate It is important because AF analysis based on this notification is “Periodic” and when there is a delay of data flow the output tag of this analysis is calculated but with missing information. In this way, if in the notification I have the last backfill/recalculate and my AF analysis give me the time range when this backfill/recalculate is necessary, I have the possibility to have the right output of AF Analysis in my PI Archive.

So it sounds like there are two enhancements. One is related to informing people when a backfill has occurred at all, and then providing context of which EFs were backfilled. I have another question about the other one. If they have late arriving data that has missing information, I would likely not alert on that until I have confidence in the data. Is the customer looking to use the Notification as an alert on whether or not data is missing? How do they verify correctness or that the data is missing in the first place?
