Push Notifications: Ability to receive notifications on my smart phone via an app

As a Notifications user I would like to receive push notifications on my phone so that I can quickly respond to the alert. This is more efficient than receiving an email since it will quickly catch my attention.

We are declining this item as we don't feel it's the right fit with our overall product strategy. Thank you for your feedback, and please continue sharing your thoughts on how we can better serve you.

I still don't understand how an app is better at capturing attention than an email.

I find it an interesting idea . . . while push notifications vs emails on capturing attention is a subjective discussion, the fact of the matter is that push notifications have become a pervasive technology utilized everywhere. An additional notification end-point option would be nice. We still have widespread use of pagers in our facilities due to emails not being a good notification for individuals rarely at their desk. These same individuals tend to not be computer/outlook savvy, further decreasing the effectiveness of email notifications. A push notification seems ike a more direct replacement to the function accomplished by the pagers.
