Provide a PI SQL Commander Lite Standalone Download

Currently, PI SQL Commander Lite is bundled with PI SQL Client, PI OLEDB Enterprise, and PI ODBC Driver. It is a very useful tool for PI OLEDB Provider, which does not bundle it. To use it, another provider needs to be installed to obtain PI SQL Commander Lite indirectly. The version of PI SQL Commander Lite that is bundled with each provider is the latest version of PI SQL Commander Lite at the time of the provider's release. This means that the latest versions of each provider could have different versions of PI SQL Commander Lite bundled with them. Manageability of PI SQL Commander Lite would be easier if it were a standalone download.

If this is implemented, it should be made clear in all of the other install kits that you will need to download PI SQL Commander Lite separately. Either that or continue to bundle PI SQL Commander Lite with other programs and have a separate install kit in addition to that, much like PI AF Client.

I have to say this is a good idea. Most end users don't have administrative access to their Windows workstations. Most IT support staff have no idea about PI. Our PI system administrators have everything already installed on their various workstations and servers and everything just works from their point of view. Therefore, there is a substantial breakdown in communication. Newer users do not know exactly what they need, their managers don't get involved with this level of detail, IT support persons are standing by to help but cannot because they are not trained in PI, and the organization's PI system administrators don't experience any problems with missing components.
