Fetch previous change of value (and its timestamp) from compressed data

It is valuable to extract the previous change of value and its timestamp without full dump of compress data. If that value could be specified, the feature is even more usefull.


Example: a time series has the state of an alarm and the current value shows that the alarm is ON. i want to know when it changed to ON without the need to access all compressed data.
