Continue to support/modify the PI Trend Add-In for Excel DataLink that was in 2014 on into 2016 and beyond.

This add-in allowed for a trend to be created within an Excel Spreadsheet without first dumping the data to the sheet.  It was an easy trend to make and it updated with current live data when requested (F9). There is a work around to get this legacy add-in function to work in 2016, but no one likes a custom that only the user can see and update.

As the name of the request indicates, the legacy PI Trend add-in is being deprecated because its technology is no longer secure or supported by Microsoft. Hence, we need to remove it from our install package. Moving forward, we encourage users to leverage native Excel functionalities, i.e., name ranges, to make dynamic charts with PI data. In addition, the upcoming release of PI DataLink 2022 will support dynamic arrays, streamlining the overall workflow. When we release PI DataLink 2022 in early 2022, we will remove the legacy add-in from the install package.

I had a customer asking for the same functionality to be re-added to PI DataLink. Any news on this?

We are using PI Datalink and ActiveX has been disabled for our users as well. We would greatly appreciate a new solution, as many of our users our very frustrated and disappointed that a new Datalink trend feature has not been developed.

We have shifted to Office365 and offering the trending capability there would meet our needs.

Please create a 64bit version of PI DataLink (specifcally PI Trend feature).
