PI Batch Interfaces (EFGEN) Reliability During Recovery Runs

The Batch interfaces currently handle recovery processes very unreliably which could end up stopping the whole AF server.

We believe the stability of the interface running recoveries should be carefully handled to ensure the whole AF server environment will not be impacted by a simple recovery.

Its enough that you'll have 1 "rogue" event frame in a batch - and during recovery the interface will create a situation that the whole AF server database is blocked and users are not able to add anything (elements, templates, attributes, etc) to the PIFD database.


Examples in which we were able to observer the issue so far:

  1. PI Interface for SIEMENS SIMATIC BATCH

  2. AVEVA BATCH MANAGEMENT (former: Wonderware InBatch)

I believe this is a critical issue which should be amended in the interface behavior.
