Complete the migration from PI SDK to PI AF SDK

The documentation pages linked below reveal that RtReports Server is the only part of RtReports that communicates with the PI Data Archive and still uses PI Batch and the PI Module Database, which are both deprecated. This also means that RtReports Server is still using PI SDK, which is deprecated and insecure because it uses ActiveX. https://docs.osisoft.com/bundle/pi-server/page/configuring-security-for-rtreports.html https://docs.osisoft.com/bundle/rtreports/page/configure-pi-server-security.html Please migrate RtReports Server completely away from PI SDK in favour of using purely PI AF SDK. This is not only a good move from a security and futureproofing standpoint, but it will also make the install kit smaller, which means faster downloads and faster installation. It is ironic that RtReports is only ever used by customers in heavily regulated industries and yet still relies on an insecure technology. That is, it is an insecure product that is used only where security matters most.

RtReports 4.1 supports reporting on both batches within the PI Batch Database and Event Frames within PI AF. Customers that are still using the batch database today would not be able to use RtReports if we completed this feature as described here. We are working with these customers to complete the batch to event frames migration, but just as you said -- these customers are heavily regulated and change takes time. We are marking this as declined as this feature is not currently on the short-term roadmap.

If a customer does not use the PI Batch Database or the PI Module Database for RtReports, can they safely not assign RtReports permissions to these databases? If so, this should be stated in the documentation to help reinforce the principle of least privilege.
