Allow Report Parameters to be used in Asset Context Templates

Utilize Report Parameters to select things like Asset Names, Asset Templates, and Root Paths in Reports that use Asset Context Templates. Example use case: A customer has 100 units based on the same AF template and would like their users to be able to select a specific, desired unit from a drop-down list (i.e., utilizing a report parameter) in the RtReports Generator to run a time-based report against. They would need to configure an Asset Context Template in the RtReports Editor, with the AF Template specified, and the Asset Name set as a report parameter.

AF objects can now be selected as Report Parameters with the latest release of RtReports 5.0.

Users can now use the following AF objects as report parameters:

    • AF Template

    • AF Element

    • AF Attribute

    • AF Root Path

    • EF Attribute

It would really be beneficial for us - we have 100+ units based on various templates. Being able to select among all units in and AF database (assets) from on a timebased reports in same manner as batch based would enable us to use the otherwise ecvellent RtReports. Alternatively, just because of this issue we'll be forced to set up a bespoke SQL Reporting services with all the costs and burdesn with lifecycle and qualification a.s.o.

Hi Ellery, can you perhaps give an update on the progress of this improvement? It would be hugely beneficial for us also and allow us to massively reduce the amount of reports we have released, greatly simplifying our setup for our users.
