Store a timestamp of when an event enters the archive database

We have a use case that could be solved very easy if we have had this as a column in the data archive.

Use case:
We have made PI data availible through an own made API to our clients. They use this API to fetch data from our database and into their own databases.

We recieve the data to our servers from other servers, so a singleline dataflow might look like this:

Server1 --> pi2pi --> Server2 --> API --> Client Database

Because of where the Server1 is located we might lose the connection between Server1 and Server2 (for many days in some cases). Usually our clients asks for data from Server2 every day at midnight for the data from previous day.

Now the issue is when there is no data on Server2 because the connection between Server1 and Server2 has been disconnected. Since we dont have this column with when the data entered the database our clients dont know when new data has been added to the archive. If we had this column in the data archive we could make this availible as an endpoint in our API so our clients can easily pull down all the missing data.

Please review this request and if any more information is needed please ask.
