Trend: Multiple Trend Cursors

As a process engineer, it is helpful to see values at several points of interest on a trend at the same time.

In PI Vision 2019, trends on displays and in the new ad hoc workspace now support multiple trend cursors for viewing and comparing data values. For additional information on PI Vision 2019 check out the release announcement here: https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=kA01I0000007AdxSAE

Yes, it would be great if multiple trend cursors can be added to all the trends in one display. For example, I need two sets of cursors. For each set, the cursors in all trends can move simultaneously. If I move cursor 1 in one trend, then all cursor 1 should move to the same place. If I move cursor 2 in one trend, then all cursor 2 should move to the same place. This is very helpful for troubleshooting in industrial processes.

When two cursors are too close, values and timestamps should not overlap.

There are also requirements to see the statistics such as min/max/avg etc between two cursors.

It would be good to see if adhoc displays through URL can also provide multiple trend cursors to place on the display.

We use a different system that has min/max/avg between two cursors. Incredibly useful when you want to know the average flow rate/temperature etc. for an adhoc period

this is a VERY common complaint I get from Process Engineers that are using Vision. Please add multiple cursors! Statistics for data between the cursors would be nice, but a huge start would be to allow more then one cursor.

In a trend is a good idea to add multiple ruler Next improve:  create a table(s)  (tag name,value,ecc..) linked to the position of each ruler

Users would like to add vertical cursors along the trend to highlight trend values at specific timestamps. This feature allows users to mark trends for values of interest and share with other users.

The ability to have two cursors on a trend. Right now you can left click on a trend and a cursor will pop up and you can move that cursor left or right to look at time stamped data. It is useful sometimes to have two cursors up to look at a delta time.

A rough workaround for calculating the delta time currently is to zoom in by mouse drag-selecting the period of interest. The time range is then shown at the bottom of the trend. You can press CTTL-Z to undo the zoom.
