PI trends precision to be dynamic with the timeframe

When displaying a year of data from a PI point that logs data every 5 seconds, PI Visions reads all 6 million points and displays them even if it's not useful to have that precision considering that on a year trend, we won't see much of the seconds changes. PI Vision should retrieve the PI tags in a "smart" way depending on the timeframe to be able to be more responsive and much faster! This will allow us to display 10 pi tags in the same trend over 2 years without the performance issues we have today. Thanks

maybe the PI server could pre-calculate a "down sampled" version of the hi-res time series, that could be used for more long term trending. (1sec down sampled to 1min, 5min averages as an example)

This is a huge issue as we have 1 second data for troubleshooting and tuning on many points. That causes a 7 day trend to take multiple minutes to update at times. It bogs down our server for the entire facility. I don't even try to run a plot for more than 7 days because it will typically time out or not provide any data on the tags with the 1 second data.
