Hierarchical intelligence when building and navigating a dashboard set

a.      The concept of a hierarchy of dashboards, starting in a root dashboard as landing page, which closely follows the applicable AF tree b.      Filtering available dashboards, based on a particular template, according to the current position in the AF tree c.      Automatic listing as thumbnails of all available child dashboards, according to the current position in the AF tree (alternatively, a navigation tree to the left of the dashboard body.) d.      Give gauges and traces a drill-down/drill-through feature with hierarchical sense. Currently, drill down and drill through must be manually concocted by overlaying a text block.

    As per item 'd', the new PI Vision 2017 offers the ability to create Navigation Links to practically all symbols, not just 'text' objects like Coresight used to.

    In response to Daniel Chaves, "As per item 'd', the new PI Vision 2017 ..." In addition, when alternative template instances are listed for a particular dashboard, only the instances on the current AF branch should be presented (or there should be an option for such a filter). This will ease building the drill down structure. Also, in order to ease selecting dashboards for configuring a drill-down navigation flow, it would greatly help to have a browsing feature that could list available displays on sibling elements, as well as available dashboards on child elements under the current element (if not a leaf element) from the context of the current element associated with the current dashboard.
