PI Vision: End support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE)

Microsoft has announced end of support for Internet Explorer 11. For more information, refer to the Microsoft page, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/faq/internet-explorer-microsoft-edge. AVEVA recommends only using supported browsers to access PI Vision. With future releases of PI Vision, AVEVA is evaluating dropping support for Internet Explorer due to the Microsoft end of support. Moving to a supported browser gives customers a more secure and more modern browsing experience. We would like to hear your feedback on how this change would impact your organization and your current plans to migrate away from Internet Explorer. Are there environments where your PI Vision users will continue to use Internet Explorer beyond 2022?

Where I work, we don't rely on Internet Explorer to access PI Vision. People still use it, but this is due to choice and not necessity.

I think it's safe to drop support for Internet Explorer 11 after June 15, 2022 (end of support date for Internet Explorer 11). Microsoft Edge is already being deployed to a lot of systems, and it even has an "Internet Explorer mode" for legacy websites. Supporting Internet Explorer beyond its end of support date is dangerous and encourages bad practices. Also, because it doesn't have support for modern technologies, it also means that all the other customers are affected by supporting Internet Explorer, as less secure technologies must be enabled to allow IE to work properly.
