Monitor PI Vision Health

As an administrator of PI Vision, I would like built in capabilities to automate monitoring the health of my PI Vision server similar to the  capcabilities of the UniInt Health Points from PI Interfaces.

    Modern dotnet application use diagnostic health checks to expose the health of the application, and its dependencies.

    AVEVA should leverage the batteries included health check functionality that Microsoft provides to expose the health status of PI Vision, the PI Vision database, PI AF, and the PI collective.

    What this enables customers to do is configure the load balancers to hit a specific health endpoint rather than using arbitrary health checks of our own. Load balancers have the ability to parse the JSON response and determine if traffic should be reverted to a different PI vision server.

    I agree with Cameron The PI Perfmon interface is extremely powerful. All OSIsoft products should expose perf counters, as a matter of course. Hint: AF Server!!!!! Thanks Cheers MG

    I am using a few perfmon points on the AF server and browsing I found a gazillion. Maybe someone from OSIsoft could note in this thread: - Are there any valuable health attributes that are not in PerfMon - If not, still, a 'Help' description of the most common PerfMon points to look at would be beneficial ( I just guessed at the ones I'm using)
