Search for assets by attribute value

User Story: Search for assets by attribute value: As a process engineer, I want to retrieve assets of a particular type by specifying an attribute value like Production SO THAT I can find the specific assets that I'm looking for. For example, find me all wells where Production < 1000.

    This is a simple search should have been added with version 1 . Just yesterday we had one engineers saying: " This software is useless when i need to learn new client tools to ask for well which have Well head pressure bigger than 2000..." At the end of the day CoreSight should thru time join forces with ProcessBook in a way. This kind of search capability on AF database and PI Points would be a great help and selling point at the end of the day. This tells you enough....

    There's a variety of attributes one might want to search/filter by, I don't understand why this wasn't in the initial release, am I using AF wrong? One use case we have is the device identifier which is the global linking key across our various systems. Ideally we'd like a user to be able to search for it across all tools, Datalink, PI Vision, System Explorer, etc. It's a +1 from me :)

    I agree will all above comments. This functionality was in the original search window of all OSI products prior to the introduction of PI-AF. I already started building my AF hierarchy hoping to get this functionality available. The sooner the better. Most of my rotating equipment have MMS equipment number and asset type (pump, agitator, conveyor, etc.). I would like to search and find the elements associated with a specific class of equipment and / or MMS equipment number.
