Expose traits in dataupdate

Currently a dataupdate does not indicate if an attribute in the symbol source list is a trait or not. As i want to code functionality to use the traits (and not the attribute names) i would like the dataupdate with metadata to include the attribute properties (and thus including trait 'flags')
