Provide an option not to have URL parameters such as kiosk mode and hidetoolbar persist if you click a link to a display in another display.

Provide an option not to have URL parameters such as kiosk mode and hidetoolbar persist if you click a link to a display in another display. It is not always desired to have the same viewing format between displays linked to one another. Also, the persistence of these parameters can cause different viewing behavior depending on how you click between displays.

Alternatively, you can continue to persist the URL parameters, because there is value in that behavior, but allow us to change the URL parameter. i.e. Rather than using &hidetimebar, use &hidetimebar=true or &hidetimebar=false. Rather than using mode=kiosk, use kioskmode=true (or false). Persist all URL parameters, from one page to another, unless the URL parameter changes from true to false or vise versa.

Remove the gray boxes that surround objects, text fields, trends, etc. This is a huge turnoff. Also, it's been a huge set back not having basic functionality that Excel offers like pie and bar charts. User's, at the very least, expect a powerful system such as PI to have bar and pie charts.

I agree with peter's comment. There are times when we want to persist and times we do not. Peter's suggestion lets the developer make the decision.

Peter's suggestion has been implemented in PI Vision 2017 R2 (the latest release). The hidetimebar, hidetoolbar, and hidesidebar parameters all support "true" and "false" values. By default the current values will be persisted as before, but they can now be overridden in the URL definition. The "mode=kiosk" parameter was not changed, so this will need to be considered in a future release.
