Switch between elements in PI Vision mobile

As a user of PI Vision on a mobile device, I need to be able to use existing element-relative displays on the mobile website and swap between assets so that I can dynamically see relevant data for multiple pieces of equipment. The asset dropdown list should be available on mobile.

Our production managers want to use PIVision from their phones to view manufacturing processes when they are out of the plant. We create templates so that similar types of equipment are documented uniformly. Asset switching is a PIVision feature that is used frequently in the plant. It needs to be available when users access PIVision from their phones.

We use PiVision heavily through our manufacturing facilities. Our process engineers and production supervisors use the mobile version to check up on current running production while off location. Switching through assets that are built into our desktop displays should be available for mobile as well. I'm very surprised that this feature has been omitted. I would very much like to see this feature updated for mobile use please.

Dear OSIsoft, we love PIVision but really want our teams to be able to use their own devices to view plant data when in the field. No need for the AF navigation side bar on the mobile, but element relative dropdown menu is a must for full functionality of existing PIVision pages.

Switching between assets on mobile devices is a critical requirement for my Utilities customer.

Part of the power in PIVision is making things available on mobile. It is a waste of effort to build multiple and different screens for desktop and mobile. This is an ease of use feature that is critical to have on the mobile. Please make this available as soon as possible.

agreed. just makes sense to add it. using ?redirect=false to get to the non-mobile page shows the drop down but eats up a lot of valuable space.

Switching assets on mobile is a critical feature for our organization to be able to scale out adoption of the many screens we have build in PI Vision. Additional feedback received 1/21/20 from Brendan through Mike Monacella: I get it, OSI no doubt has more folks wanting a seamless ProcessBook migration toolkit than improved Vision navigation, but what’s going to happen to all those users who migrate their fleets of ProcessBook screens and then find navigating through them a challenge on mobile? I’d encourage you to raise this point with the PM. We want off ProcessBook, too (so we only have one visualization platform to support), but if the usability isn’t there, it’s a much harder sell for us to make to our ProcessBook users. We’ll have the same challenges when we retire ProcessNet later this year. Users will end up using Vision on their laptops via Citrix instead of their phones, which is not ideal.

We also would like to see this feature add to PI Vision on mobile.

It is incredibly unfortunate that this is not inherent when using PI Vision on a mobile device. We went through a lot of trouble building a reference hierarchy for technicians, supervisors, and analysts in order to see all of the assets that "belong" to one person. We get out to the field this week and were disappointed (to say the least) that this functionality doesn't exist! Please make this available asap - multiple clients are depending on it out in the field.

OSI always push to implement a good PI AF in order to enhance the PI Vision productivity, but then the tool does not allow to take advantage of this on Mobile, that is the most important components nowdays. It is sure we want to improve PI Vision on mobile, starting from this features ASAP!

Make Asset drop-downs available on mobile displays. We currently build mobile specific displays if they are required, but the lack of an asset drop-down limits our ability to use PI Vision on a mobile device.

I agree with all of the comments below. We are developing displays with context switching being used as a feature. The impact of using mobile will be very small and used only in some cases without an asset dropdown feature.

This is still an important requirement to be able to use PI Vision on mobile. Hopefully, it would be added in the next update.

I would very much like for someone from OSIsoft to give this idea some status. It should have been implemented long ago as mobile displays are basically useless without it.

This seems like a no brainer / oversite in what you have now...SUPER annoying we can't already do this.

Took me a couple of years to get our security team to sort out requirements for PI Vision mobile and now i find out all the pages we regularly use wont work because of this. Would love to see this get added ASAP
