Migrate data sets from PI ProcessBook displays to PI Vision

Most of displays that we use have datasets, it is important to migrate these as displays are migrated to native PI Vision displays.

PI Vision 2020 introduces the ability to create calculations within your display, similar to calculation data sets in PI ProcessBook. With the PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility, you can now migrate your ProcessBook displays that contain data sets over to PI Vision displays that contain calculations. For additional information on PI Vision 2020, please see the release announcement here: https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=000031641

This feature would be extremely beneficial to our oil & gas operation as our production engineers need to be able to tweak calculation on the fly to predict current production.

Thank you for your comment Helmy. To clarify, would you expect all data sets that are in use on a display to be migrated, or that all data sets associated with a display get migrated, regardless of whether or not they are in use?

While i agree this might be convenient, not sure it's best practice (even though I use Data Sets) with too many negatives to enumerate here. Best practice would be an analysis. (Even PEs were best practice for ProcessBook, just that using a Data Set didn't eat a PI tag from your license - only reason i used them) PS - I get it though a simple calc only required in a single display is very handy. Anything reused or may have a value that needs manual updating should consider an analysis.
