    We had implemented this feature with an plugin for PB. It would be great to have this feature (and if possible the Support for 21 CFR Part 11 Electronic Signatures)

    I agree. While I understand annotations can be added to Event Frames, engineers in my company often annotate PI Tags to explain data anomalies both slight (difficult or not worth capturing via event frames) and major (that do generate Event Frames). We deliver our PB 'dashboards' to many users via Coresight as Coresight performs much better on mobile devices and regional offices where internet connectivity is not a good as at the corporate offices (PI headquarters). Our users rarely visit Event Frames as all the data they need is available in the PB dashboard. The fact annotations are absent in the Coresight view discourages use of Coresight.

    We are using Pi manual logger to record plant readings and use the annotations to record discrepancies. Being able to see these annotations historically is of great value. Besides if you are going to roll PI Manual Logger into PI vision, you’ll have to do this anyway! 😃

    We (big oil) also need a way to annotate trends using PI Vision. We currently use ProcessBook but want to switch to Vision.

    We would use this for PIML points to display the person who entered the value. Displaying the "Inspector" is needed for NERC compliance. Currently we are using PI DataLink but PI Vision would be much better.

    Would there be a chance to get this enhancement soon? especially after end of life for Processbook, it's important Processbooks functionalities in PI Vision.

    Our 20+ year old Bizware historian has this feature and is used regularly.

    As PIPB is end of life PI Vision needs to provide this functionality. Annotating data is a well established tool!
