Changing Units of Measure (UOM) for non-AF Points

Our Data Archives have all tag UOMs synced with our AF UOM Databases, to enable us to correctly utilise standard conversions for all points. We were delighted with the PI Vision 2022 feature to change UOMs for AF Attributes, but this feature should also be available for other PIPoints, without the need to create a PI AF Attribute.

PI Vision should utilise the UOM Library for its own host AF Server to enable users to convert units on their PI Points. When opening the Format menu for the Value symbol (for example):

  • Coerce the tag's <engunits> to the matching abbreviation in the UOM database

    • If successful, enable combobox to select an alternate UOM

    • If unsuccessful, disable combobox with an appropriate tooltip explaining that the engineering unit <engunits> was not found in the UOM Database
