A custom symbol that writes data to a string tag

In the manufacturing paper industry, there are many situations where the operator needs to describe the characteristics of a Parent Roll. In other situations, the operator needs to add comments justifying their bad running during the shift. Or, in a dashboard you want to add comments explaining for example the lower percentages of the day.

All the situations described above are, at least in Kimberly-Clark, considered as a routine. My idea is to create a simple text box (white background) where you can add your comments and be able to go back in time and see the comments you entered for that specific time of the day. It doesn't have to go to a PI Tag - it could if it is possible. It is a very simple feature, but it is very handy when it comes to the floor.

I've been asked so many times for that but unfortunately PI VISION does not have any feature like that. PI VISION has events where you can add comments, however most of the time the comments are not event related. I attached a file that contains part of a screen we have here that shows some parent roll numbers and comments in front of it.

I really appreciate if you can take my idea further and design this feature.
