Sort Events Table on multiple columns

We would like to be able to sort events tables by more than one column. One example use case would be where we review a list of events that includes their start times, start dates, and a numeric summary value associated with the event. We would like to sort the table by start date, but then also by the numeric field within each distinct date.

    As a further example, in our case we would like to see in progress events sorted on top but then sorted by the start time. If we click on the "End Time" column we see all the "In Progress" values on top, but we have no way to set then the results so that the Start Time values are assured to be in chronological order.
