If this could integrate with Google map api like this post but out of the box and no need for custom code https://pisquare.osisoft.com/community/developers-club/blog/2016/05/31/developing-the-google-maps-pi-coresight-symbol-part-1

There are times when access to specific location data using a Google Map window and Google Map layers would be of value, but other times when more analytic capability from say Bubble Charts as a geography would be useful, such as https://www.highcharts.com/maps/demo/map-bubble . Maybe the right answer is a cookbook on how to customise the addition of generic tools such as Google Maps, or seperately licensed but low cost tools, such as HighCharts is a solution that would address many needs. ESRI is not the answer for all these geographic issues, ( Though it is useful in some cases) but is also a high cost option. A cookbook on how to integrate PI Vision to free tools such as Google Maps, where Lat Long can come from AF, or to a low cost licenced tools such as HighCharts would be great, rather than develop map capability internally.

For companies for whom ESRI is not an option, support for QGIS / GRASS may be a good choice. QGIS is a user friendly Open Source Geographic Information System (GIS) licensed under the GNU General Public License. QGIS is an official project of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo). It runs on Linux, Unix, Mac OSX, Windows and Android and supports numerous vector, raster, and database formats and functionalities. https://qgis.org

It would be helpful for transportation customers, shipping for example, to be able to track the path a ship takes when traveling from point A to point B. Does that particular ship always take the same path? Do other ships take that same path? The GIS coordinates dataset (multiple values) would be displayed on the map for a period of time. Perhaps this data stored would be associated with an Event Frame. Event Frame overlay could then be used to compare the paths. This is not like a replay of historical event, it is more like those apps people use to track their run, but with the extra ask of overlaying multiple similar runs to confirm adherence to Ideal Run/Planned Run.

Enel: easy integration with ESRI ArcGIS maps and Google (or similar, we don’t care about the map provider) Maps directly inside PI Vision would be appreciated. Now it is only possible with extensibility and programming
