Restore the mouse wheel zoom/pan and process value click functionality from the previous PI Vision version.

"The current updated version of PI Vision has significantly degraded navigation usability. We request the restoration of two key features available in the older version:

  1. Mouse Wheel Navigation: Users must be able to use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out of the display and use left-click and drag to pan/move the view across the screen while zoomed. The absence of this feature makes navigating large, zoomed displays cumbersome and inefficient.

  2. Selectability of Process Values: The system should allow users to select/click only on live process values (e.g., Level, Flow, Temp) and not on static elements like labels or fixed graphics. This is crucial for quick access to ad-hoc trends and related information for specific variables, which was easily achievable in the previous version.

Benefit: Restoring these features will significantly improve user experience, speed, and efficiency for all operators and engineers who use PI Vision for process monitoring and analysis."

    Thank you for the suggestion. I believe you are referring to the PI ProcessBook viewer feature because I do not see this functionality in PI Vision displays going back to PI Vision 2016. In PI Vision displays, the mouse wheel can be used to zoom when the CTRL key is held down. Currently left-click and drag is used to select symbols, so we would need to provide a different mode to support the panning functionality.

    I couldn't agree more. This post is 100% correct. These two features are not 'nice-to-haves'; they are essential tools for operators and engineers. Their removal has significantly degraded workflow efficiency and made process analysis much more cumbersome. This needs to be addressed urgently.
