Option to change orientation of Bar Chart labels

Currently the Bar Chart labels are fixed to appear horizontally. When using the vertical orientation option, this often results in having to make the symbol quite wide to be able to render the entire label for each bar. It would be nice to have either an option to switch the label between horizontal/vertical or have the ability to rotate the labels.
