I really like this idea. It supports the root cause workflows inAPM/ Digital Twin. Maybe we can we provide this capability in the existing trend symbol into a bundle that configures with less clicks.
What i mean, In addition to plotting PI point data, the trend symbol would have asset context. and could display events as bubbles or rectangles whose placement and width indicates the startTime, duration and endTime. Events would appear overlayed or stacked against the pi point trend chart. This combo display helps see the root causes of events. The asset context could be set by deployment of attributes to the symbol but then user can intervene and directly specify context via element search. Events would be clickable to navigate to the Event details display. Navigation to the dashboard for the asset that is the asset context would be a useful path for a user.
