FFT Trend

Please provide a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) frequency analysis trend. Best case scenario would be to right click (or otherwise select) a trend trace and convert back and forth between FFT and linear trends. It is indispensable for troubleshooting and determining frequency relationships and anomalies.

    Agree completely here that FFT is a universal time series data tool. we see many use cases that have dominant time dependence ranging microsec, seconds, days, weeks, months. if you have examples of use cases please share here. If the feedback has been declined it could still be re-opened should enough new feedback is provided. In our Services engagements we can coach the making of a custom symbol using PIVision extensibility feature. See attached a sample of the FFT freq spectrum plot as displayed by a typical custom symbol built for PIVision.

    This is needed in a range of cases. One broad example is machine vibration data from accelerometers for condition based maintenance.

    This would be a valuable feature - provides a way to identify process industry oscillations and variability due to the following: - process upsets - equipment problems - control system oscillations due to tuning and valve issues

    we are using FFT currently in analyzing PID controller strain. FFT has broad application. We have built a custom symbol in PI vision for FFT analysis. Works well as an ad hoc data science tool and links nicely to event frames in pi vision.
