Number Formatting for Value

It would be really useful to have a format definition for a number shown in the value symbol, e.g. according to Microsoft conventions ( https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/0c899ak8(v=vs.110).aspx ). Examples: the value 1234.5678 displayed using various formatting definitions: "#####" --> 1235 "#####.#" --> 1234.6

    The PI Vision development team has completed work to allow the configuration of number formats in PI Vision 2017 R2. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features.     Will this include number formatting for finance? i.e. Negative numbers in parenthesis rather than with a negative sign in front? This would be very helpful for several customers. Instead of -402 we would prefer to show (402). Thank you!

    Brandon, unfortunately, the current feature does not include number formatting for finance.

    Yes, it would be very helpful be to be able to define the number of decimals shown on the screen. Some of our fractional values get really long.

    How about giving us the ability to just set the displayed format of the value along with its font size and etc.

    I believe this can be marked complete with the latest version of Vision. We can set the decimals for each value now and it has cleaned up our screens greatly!

    Displaying values in Vision always shows a set number of significant figures, so the length of a text value can change. Can there be an option to force a value to remain at a certain number of digits?
