SQC (Statistical Quality Control) Symbol

Support for a dynamic symbol to display SQC data.

While we appreciate the interest the community has for this suggestion, we have decided to decline building a native PI Vision SQC symbol. There are several ways to tailor an SQC/SPC implementation in PI Vision that are more powerful and more customizable than what is available in PI ProcessBook with the SQC Chart symbol. Use of Asset Analytics and Event Frames now enable the possibility to use SQC and SPC calculations beyond just the display and additionally allow trigger excursion notifications. Our suggestion is to develop an SQC solution through a mixed use of AF analyses and the native PI Vision symbols. There are resources to show how SQC/SPC can be implemented using Asset Analytics and Event Frames as well as a workshop offering to help customers implement SQC/SPC in their environment: Jumpstart Workshops with an SQC Quality Focus https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=000035499 Webinar - Statistical Quality Control (SQC) | OSIsoft https://pages.osisoft.com/WS-CORP-2021-Q1-01-14-Product-Focused-PI-Vision-2020-SQC_webinarregistration-LP.html If you are interested in an SQC workshop, please create a service request or contact your Account Manager/Customer Success Manager for more details.

Having an external company solution is not a complete work around. This is one of the pain points of where PIVision falls short of Processbook.

This functionality needs to be a part of PI vision if you are forcing users to move away from Processbook to PI vision. There is an obvious gap between these two platforms and a need for this!!

I totally disagree with the solution proposed by AVEVA developers. In many organizations (especially corporations) to define AF symbols or analyzes there are needed editing rights on the PI Server.

SQC charts were quick to use. If I come up with the need of seeing SQC chart for any process variable (e.g. for the process troubleshooting) it took just one minute and I had the chart ready to use. If I would need to do the same by creating AF and analyses I would take way longer time (I may case I would need to call IT guys).
When I see that it is declined it makes PI Vision useless for me. I will still use Process Book for my daily job.

    Hello everyone,

Werusys got this feedback from many of our customers and created a new symbol for PI Vision which enables you to have the same experience for SPC/SQC as in PI Process Book. Same look, same features and if you want something changed we can also have a look at that! Our SPC/SQC symbols are easy to use and can be added to any PI Vision Screen by drag and drop with any PI Tag or AF Attribute.

Attached is a list of all our currently available PI Vision symbols and also a special focus on the SPC/SQC symbols. If you want to learn more just drop me a message: julian.weber(at)werusys.de

We really should have this. Especially with the attribute traits in AF2016 we have all the components available.

Now that we have attribute traits in AF2016 one would like to use that to display SPC charts. No easy workaround as the ProcessBook SQC functionality is not supported in Coresight.

SQC charts with ProcessBook are critical to how we run our business. We want to move over to Coresite, however lack of an SQC chart in Coresight will be a show stopper.

Why this is important Proactive monitoring and control of critical process parameters reduces variability and provides early notification of potential OOS conditions. Several recent events have revealed an opportunity to improve our knowledge of critical process parameters, be more proactive with data collection and review, and drive better decision making with understanding of risks and impact. Lack of focus on these areas may cause unintended consequences that impact our business and our brand.

Since there is analysis functionality to create event frames, it would be very useful if we would able to create displays also to show the same SQC analysises.

Our Lab groups love the SQC charting in Process Book, would really like to have it in PI Vision so we can begin to move off of Process Book.

A usecase in pharma production is monitoring of process prarameters in the context of the Batches. Typically parameters is generated once pr batch, therefore if the is a posibility to select batch infomation (from EF) as x-axis in the ControlChart display.

Agree with others that this would be a very valuable addition to Pi Vision, complementing the Pi AF functionality.

SQC Charts need to trend against time as well as against event frames so we can track quality vs time and quality vs batch

Some of my new customers have strict requirement to have SQC charts visualized. Have to propose ProcessBook only for this reason!
