Trend: Multistate trend graphic

We are using PI Vision to provide a single dashboard view of our dams across the state. However, not all dams use the same suite of level indications. As such, we are using derived templates to discern the differences. It would be wonderful if we could keep the levels for (say) dam-type 'A' as one trend graphic, then multistate the graphic to that it "disappears" when dam-type 'B' is selected; at which time the dam-type 'B' levels trend graphic is displayed. Similar functionality is currently available for the "value" graphic. Hence, would it be possible to apply equivalent logic for trend graphics, utilising a separate boolean or enumeration set attribute for visibility?
