What specific problem are you trying to solve with this enhancement? USERS CANNOT SEE ANY PI TAG CONFIGURATION IN PI VISION CURRENTLY. SPECIFICALLY, I WOULD LIKE TO HOVER OVER A DATAPOINT AND BE ABLE TO SEE ITS INSTRUMENT TAG.
How would you like this feature to work? LIKE THE BINOCULARS IN PI PROCESSBOOK....A FEATURE THAT ALREADY EXISTS.
Who will benefit the most from this enhancement? EVERYONE.
Please read the feedback you are getting on this request.
I agree 1000%, our entire process automation group relies on being able to see the PI Tag attributes for several reasons. When submitting a new PI tag, or modifying a new PI tag we used the attributes as an important reference. Production Engineers contact our group often requesting current PI Tag span and attributes. We used the attribute feature all the time in processbook, not having is a major inconvenience.
Dear,
These are the functionalities I would like to see:
1. In ProcessBook you were able to right click on a PI Point in runtime and then select annotations to see the PI Points attributes (like source, span, etc..) Engineers use PI Vision to troubleshoot, but need to open Excel or PI SMT to find the source of the PI Point.
1. Add menu item to right click on PI Point in display and show popup with attributes.
1. Engineers, Process Control, Display developers, PI Administrators (Everyone)
I hope this is sufficient information.
Best Regards,

Hi,
Our business users require this feature as in Processbook it was a direct way for them to make decisions and put in Tag attribute alteration requests to our PI support team. Is there are any update on when this will be implemented? We have been given a workaround to add all point attributes to the tag description, but not any way to automate this, we cannot do this for 10's of thousands of PI Tags. Can an Aveva Admin please give a response? Thanks.
This was a really good feature in ProcessBook
It was very helpful to see the instrumenttag the tag is pointing to, or any other attribute that may be relevant at the time
Also adding attributes on the search panel in ProcessBook was very helpful to check atrributes for multiple tags at the same time
I would be really good to add these features in PI Vision
Regards
Please add the PI Point attributes feature similar to ProcessBook. Thank you.
Also agree! This was very helpful in Processbook to quickly find the PLC tag that the PI tag is looking at, or find the exception and compression resolution, or any of the other PI attribute settings. We can do this via Excel, but that takes a lot more steps. If one wants to get attribute settings for LOTS of PI tags, then the Excel approach is better, but if one wants to get attribute settings (quickly) for just one PI tag, then it would nice to duplicate how this was done in Processbook.
Agree, this would be a good feature. Its available in ProcessBook by clicking an object then the binocular icon. This shows a pop-up with all PI tag attributes. If cannot add a similar button to the binocular icon then at least make this functionality possible from the tag search in PI Vision (by right clicking a tag or AF Attribute and select Properties or similar).
