Multistate: Play sound when state changes

We would like to be able to have a sound play as part of a multistate. Ex: on an upper limit we may want it to play a sound as an audible alarm.

This item is the top voted user experience request and top 20 of all requests and it has been over a year since posted. Is this being looked at?

This would be very helpful for our environment! Best practice would be to give a selection of different sound, or to play selectable (user upload) soundfiles through the browser. So the possibility to give out also speech in different languages would be highly appreciated.

Operations had this feature in ProcessBook (via VBA). They miss it now that they've moved to PI Vision.

This would be almost indispensable considering all the process monitoring alarm annunciation would be a huge benefit. Even more so for AlarmView users, as it is no longer usable.

...and not just for multi-state, being able to add audio in general would be excellent, including streaming audio from other sites, or from IoT devices like a microphone in a machine room.

I agree, we need the ability to associate sounds (browse and pick a sound file) with the states of multistates and have a box to type the repeat audible alarm periodicity in seconds where 0 (default) = no repeat.

This would also be very usefull for me. In fact, this is the only reason why I still need Process Book (I have sounds programmed through VBA).

This would be incredibly useful for us. We have many displays and asking the operators to keep track of all of them visually and catch an anomaly in a timely fashion while operating the plant is unrealistic. A simple audible generic alarm would draw their attention to an issue, at which point they can look for the display that has an alarm condition and react appropriately.
