Display property to hide asset/event pane

For smaller screens, the asset/event pane can take up a lot of real estate. The kiosk mode hides the asset/event pane. Unfortunately, it also hides the asset selector drop-down. This improvement would hide the asset/event pane but allow use of the asset selector dropdown. It would be ideal to be able to set a default (display setting) for each display and to have the option of passing a parameter in via URL to override the selected default.

While we appreciate the interest the community has for this suggestion, we have decided to decline this item in favor of other high priority work the product needs. Thank you for your feedback, and please continue sharing suggestions for how we can improve PI Vision for you!

Our specific requirement is to be able to hide the asset/event pane by default but still be in standard mode (ie: not kiosk). We would be happy with a system-wide setting for this so that the default is to open all displays with it not expanded (unless it is a 'new' display - creating from scratch). If the user wishes to use the pane, they will click the icon to expand it.

The hidesidebar URL parameter should do what you are asking for. Also note that by default the asset/event pane will be closed when opening a PI Vision display. It should only be open by default on Event Comparison displays or when creating a new display.

I would also like to use the asset selector dropdown on mobile devices.
