Show descriptions in tooltip

1. Distribute underlying information regarding an AF attribute. We use the AF Description field for detailed information regarding the attribute, example which measuring standard is used for a water level. This especially important for height above sea level.

2. On the hovering box, display a new line with “Description: “ & text value

1)What problem-- on a dashboard or "trend page" or other PI Vision display, you often only have tag name showing along with multiple other tags. having description or Unit of Measure or ?? in tooltip would help user understand tag instead of going to a different source to look up info.

2)how feature should work. the tag search tooltip shows description when hovering over tag. hovering on a Symbol shows tagname for most. Description should be included tooltip. showing UOM might all be appropriate for many symbols.

3) who would benefit-- users everywhere.

This is a common complaint of users in my organisation. When functionality such as this gets removed it makes it very difficult to convince users to move away from ProcessBook. It's hard enough searching for PI Tags as it is in PI Vision as you can't see the description beside the tagname. Not having the ability to quickly see all details about a variable on a display is quite annoying.

I agree with the need for tag descriptions in Coresight. I know AF cures this by having friendly names and descriptions but we are not going to have every single tag mapped out in AF and for those scenarios it would be truly beneficial to have the tag descriptions available in coresight.

I would like to have the desciptions for AF elements also visible when hovering over it in PI Coresight 2016.

In PI Vision 2019 when hovering over tags/attributes in the left hand search/tree window the description text is presented if there is one. However, the same behavior should be also when hovering over tags/attributes in a trend symbol and other symbols. Often, the description text gives additional valuable information to the user about the measurement point.
