Distribute underlying information regarding an AF attribute. We use the AF Description field for detailed information regarding the attribute, example which measuring standard is used for a water level. This especially important for height above sea level.

1)What problem-- on a dashboard or "trend page" or other PI Vision display, you often only have tag name showing along with multiple other tags. having description or Unit of Measure or ?? in tooltip would help user understand tag instead of going to a different source to look up info.
2)how feature should work. the tag search tooltip shows description when hovering over tag. hovering on a Symbol shows tagname for most. Description should be included tooltip. showing UOM might all be appropriate for many symbols.
3) who would benefit-- users everywhere.
This is a common complaint of users in my organisation. When functionality such as this gets removed it makes it very difficult to convince users to move away from ProcessBook. It's hard enough searching for PI Tags as it is in PI Vision as you can't see the description beside the tagname. Not having the ability to quickly see all details about a variable on a display is quite annoying.
