Quick Filter on Assets Dropdown for Element Relative

The Asset dropdown that allows user to change context should support ability to search as the user types.  This is a necessity when there are more assets that fit on a single page.

The PI Vision development team has completed work on a filter in the related assets selector on displays in PI Vision 2017 R2 so users can quickly find an asset in the list. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other new features. You can read about what's new in PI Vision 2017 R2 in the release announcement: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01278

YES! We have 1000s of assets with the same template so it would be great if the user could filter their related asset list based on some criteria. For example: We have 2000 assets that all are based off the same template. However, 40 of those contained events that cost our company a lot of money in downtime. The end user would LOVE to be able to focus on those 40 assets without having to find them first in the list of 2000. This would greatly increase the usefulness for us with coresight. It'd also be nice for the author of the display to be able to save some 'preset' criteria rules that may be of interest to the user so that they could simply click on a pre-defined search instead of having to know what element category/attribute value to search for.

Sometimes there are hundreds of elements with the same template. Practically it is impossible to select from this in switch asset form. A simple search would be really helpful.

There is a similar request: https://osisoft.uservoice.com/forums/320517-pi-coresight/suggestions/15058995-navigation-alternate-display-name-for-element. Either suggestion works, both show Switch Asset is unusable at any scale.

PB allows you to filter your related assets. when you bring the PB display in to CS, it loses this. When you try and just use the new CS to built it from scratch, it does not allow filtering. stuck using PB for now.

Adding the filtering capability mentioned will allow more utilization on the shop floor helping those who are problem solving.

Be able to specify which assets show up in related assets by specifying some type of criteria (by template, derived template, category, name, etc.). This so that not so many assets show up in the default related assets search (by template).

It should not matter how many assets are in the same template! Just instead of the drop box and the next, next, next pages… user should have the ability to simply enter the asset name and deal is done. Even so simplified search would mean allot!!! We have users rejecting to use coresight because they have to scroll and click so many times and honestly they are right. Location A Assets <-- Those assets have the same display…. 1 . . . 2000 Location B <-- Those assets have the same display…. Assets 1 . . . 2000

Provide a mechanism to filter through related assets. Customer Issue: When there are many related assets returned it can be difficult to locate and switch to the desired asset quickly. Note: This was previously Enhancement 115550.

The drop down on the right side, once a display is open is not suitable at all when you have thousands of elements! Users reject using the same as it is time wasting for them to scroll and click next and next and next until they reach the element they want to look at. A simple search box that displays elements as you type should be in place.

In PI Vision, when using the asset swap feature, it would be nice to have a type ahead search feature when trying to navigate through 1000's of assets instead of going page after page to try to find the asset you are looking for.
